How do you choose a wooden bracelet?

Each material has its own characteristics. Choose according to your taste and the occasion:

Natural Sandalwood Bracelet

Green Sandalwood (Guaiacum): A precious wood with shades ranging from yellow to dark green or ink green. Its color darkens over time and in sunlight as it oxidizes, and it gives off a light, natural fragrance. Fine texture, very durable and oily. Any white film on the surface can simply be wiped away with a dry cloth.

Bloodwood / Dyed Red Sandalwood: Dark red to purplish-red in color, with a fine texture, often mistaken for small-leaf red sandalwood. High density, moderately oily, and affordably priced.

Ebony (Black or Striped Wood): Deep black in color, with a hard, dense texture that is highly resistant to wear and has a beautiful sheen.

Golden Thread Sandalwood (Millettia): Reddish-brown to dark brown in color, with golden, filament-like streaks. A hard wood with a distinctive fragrance.

Golden Thread Bamboo: This is not wood, but a variety of bamboo. Its surface has golden lines; it is lightweight and ideal to wear in summer.

Sichuan Thuja (Cliff Cypress): A rare variety of cypress, prized for its mature, stabilized pieces. Very oily, with an intense fragrance and varied patterns (burls, sparrow-eye patterns).

Rosewood (e.g., Burmese Rosewood): Beautiful grain, with colors ranging from golden yellow to reddish-brown. Very oily, with a soft, elegant fragrance.

Multi-Treasure Bracelet (Mixed): Made from different wood species, brightly colored and a symbol of good luck.

Golden Sandalwood: Golden yellow to orange-yellow in color, with a fine texture, great hardness, and a beautiful sheen.

About color variations:

Because of the growth characteristics of natural wood, each bead may have subtle variations in color and grain. This is a natural property of wood.

Why do wooden bracelets vary in shade?
Different parts of the wood: The roots, trunk, and branches have different densities and colors (the heartwood is generally darker).
Different degrees of oxidation: Newly polished beads gradually change color when exposed to air as they oxidize, and the rate of oxidation can vary from bead to bead.
Variations in natural grain: Mineral lines, pores, and burls affect the color in certain areas.

About color bleeding / discoloration:

Color bleeding while wearing a wooden bracelet is common, especially with dark woods (such as ebony, bloodwood, etc.). This is not a quality defect, but a natural characteristic of the wood.
This often happens in summer due to perspiration. If this concerns you, please keep it in mind before purchasing!

About imperfections:

Imperfections are inevitable in natural wood or during the manufacturing process. These may include: traces of micro-cracks (cutting the beads does not affect wear); variations in natural texture (e.g., mineral lines, pores/palm eyes, differences in shade); slight sanding marks (hand-polishing marks that fade with handling and wear); slightly rough edges around the holes (the edge of the thread hole may be a little rough and can be sanded down by hand).

White film appearing on green sandalwood: This is not mold, but non-volatile organic substances that crystallize on the surface of the wood. Simply rub it with a dry cloth.
Some styles include alloy components (spacers, pendants, clasps, etc.). These accessories may oxidize or discolor slightly with prolonged wear; this is normal for metal.

Care instructions for wooden bracelets:

  1. Avoid water and moisture: Wooden bracelets may crack, warp, or become moldy when exposed to water. Remove them when washing your hands, showering, or swimming. If they accidentally get wet, wipe them immediately with a soft cloth and let them dry in the shade; avoid direct sunlight or using a hair dryer.
  2. Avoid high temperatures and sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight or high temperatures may cause the wood to crack or fade. In summer, avoid leaving them in a car or near a window.
  3. Keep away from chemicals: Perfumes, skincare products, cleaners, and other chemicals may corrode the wood's surface. We recommend applying skincare products or perfume before putting on the bracelet.
  4. Avoid impacts: Wood is relatively soft. Impacts with hard objects may leave scratches. We recommend removing the bracelet during sports or household chores.
Regular cleaning: Dust can be gently wiped away with a soft brush or cotton cloth. For stubborn stains, you can use a small amount of olive oil (suitable for oily woods such as small-leaf red sandalwood).
  5. Pregnant women and people with allergies: Wear with caution.
